I Juni måned betyder hvert et tråd lidt ekstra for Alexander

In June, Alexander Rides for Something Bigger

Alexander is always extra motivated to ride in June. Not because of a specific race or training goal — but because he rides with a purpose: to raise as much money as possible for the Danish Cancer Society. This year, he’s also the driving force behind a Knæk Cancer Social Ride.

Every now and then, we receive messages from cyclists across the country who are riding for a good cause — and most of the time, we have to admit that we simply don’t have the time or resources to support these otherwise well-meaning and heartfelt initiatives.

So Alexander’s mission isn’t new to us — as a regular on our 2ned Rides Aarhus, he’s shared it with us in previous seasons. A heartfelt project with a purpose that’s close to our own values: raising as much money as possible for the Danish Cancer Society through cycling.

A couple of weeks ago, Alexander came to us with a new idea for how we could help: to organise a one-off event — a social ride — inviting cyclists of all levels to come together in support of his project: Cycling in the Fight Against Cancer.
The goal? To raise awareness — and see just how much we could raise through a single event.

We wanted to support him. So did the local cycling community, TRÅD.
And when Alexander reached out on Strava, Movistar rider Mathias Norsgaard quickly showed his support.

From there, things moved quickly with Alexander as the driving force — and now, we’re ready to invite you to the "Ride to Fight Cancer" Social Ride on 5 June at 17:00, starting and ending at our showroom in Risskov.

Alexander has put his own motivation into words:
In May 2020, my grandmother lost her battle with cancer, and ever since, my family has felt the deep void it left behind. She was a cornerstone in the lives of so many – not just within our family, but also in her wider community.

More than that, she was a rock in my life – always curious about how I was doing, and always making time for me. Her support and care for me – and for everyone she held dear – were endless.

That was my personal experience of how cancer can come painfully close. But I know many of you will have stories of your own.

In 2023, I decided to combine my passion for cycling with the grief and love I carry for my grandmother. That led to my first fundraiser. I repeated the effort in 2024 — and in 2025, I’ll be taking it a step further.

The concept this year is the same as the previous ones: I’ll ride as many kilometres as I possibly can throughout June — and use every pedal stroke to raise awareness of the fundraiser.

On top of that, I’ve added even more initiatives this year in the hope of growing the impact.

One of this year's new initiatives is the Knæk Cancer Social Ride — organised in collaboration with TRÅD and 2ned — where Movistar rider Mathias Norsgaard has kindly made room in his calendar to join.

After that, I’m heading to France with a few good friends to spend as many hours in the saddle as possible.

And on June 22, I’ll be completing a half Ironman.

You can support the cause by donating per kilometre — or by giving a fixed amount.
Every contribution makes a difference, and I’m deeply grateful for anything you’re able to give!

If you’d like to support me on a per-kilometre basis, just send me an email at alexander@elboparken5.dk with the amount you’d like to give. I’ll get back to you once June is over!
I’m expecting to hit somewhere between 1,200 and 1,300 kilometres... but I’m aiming higher!

I hope you’ll consider supporting my fundraising campaign – and join the incredibly important fight against cancer.
I truly believe we can make a difference, together.

With heartfelt thanks,
– Alexander Arendt
